Lifelong resident of Passaic, New Jersey, Deacon Carl Milledge Sheffield was born on February
27, 1954 to Eddie and Zonnie Mae Sheffield. On June 28, 2020, Carl made the transition to his
heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Carl was a devoted member of the Roger Williams Baptist Church in Passaic, New Jersey. He
was an active servant that enjoyed singing praises to God with the Male Chorus and spreading
the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Homeless Outreach Ministry. Carl answered the call to
expand his reach within the church and in January 2014 he became ordained as a Deacon.

For several years, Carl worked for the insulated cable products manufacturer, The Okonite
Company when it was located in Passaic. He also worked for the City of Passaic, Department of
Code Enforcement & Zoning.

Carl had a laid back personality and handsome smile that could light up any room. His sense of
humor quickly turned strangers into friends. Carl also had a brilliant way of flawlessly executing
jokes that would have you on the edge of your seat until the punchline which was always met
with a roar of laughter from the audience. Carl adored his family and doted on his grandnephew
Cam, who loves his Uncle Carl just the same.

Carl is predeceased by

his younger brother,

Zonnie Mae (Herrin) Sheffield

To carry on his legacy, Carl
leaves two sisters

and Jacqueline (Sheffield) Hilliard of Clifton, NJ

Shawn Sheffield
and Daniel Hilliard;
