Mrs. Mary Ellen Hilton Chestnut, 74 of Kershaw, South Carolina, departed this life on April 17th, 2020, at St Joseph Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late John C Hilton and Henry Etta Green.
She retired from St. Joseph Hospital System after 19 years, and retired from own self employed cleaning service business with several clients.

She attended Hillside High School for 12 years. She was a member of The Redeem Tabernacle Deliverance Center of Paterson , NJ, where the Presiding Pastor is Glenis McCloud. She served as the Mother of the church and as a Deaconess. She participated as a member of the African American Woman of Paterson, New Jersey and was also a member of The Grandparent Association of Paterson, New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by Marvin Hilton (Son) of Paterson, New Jersey, Annie Mae Green (Sister) of Heath Springs, South Carolina, Janie Hilton (Sister), New York, New York, Ann "Willene" McCane (Sister) of Kershaw, South Carolina, and John C Hilton, Jr "Junior" (Brother), of Kershaw, South, Carolina.

Left to cherish many and fond loving memories are Husband Lewis Boyd Chestnut, Odell Hilton (Brother), both of Paterson, New Jersey, and Dorothy James- Harrison, of Kershaw, South Carolina and a host of Nieces and Nephews.

Left also to cherish are special memories of close friends and other family members, are Pearlie James ( Best friend since 7th Grade), of Greenville, SC, Mary Pride of Patterson, New Jersey, Carolene McDowell, Of Mississippi, Yvonne Heath of Patterson, New Jersey. A very special friend Betty Shellman, of Paterson, New Jersey. Loving memories and special Thanks to 2 very special and dear people Aralene James-Ayers, Greenville, South, Carolina and Brother -n-law Ronnie Williams of Delaware.‚Äč
