Obituary

Victoria (Washington) Brown was born on September 2, 1958 to Dorothy Louise Feaster and Raze Washington in Mobile, Alabama. She was referred to her family and friends as Vickey. She began her education in the public school system then attended St. Mary's Catholic school in Passaic, NJ. She later attended Passaic High School where she graduated.
She attended Jersey City State College majoring in Social Service. She began working for the Department of of Children Protection and Permanency. In 1985, she was employed for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty five years, she was in the process of retiring.

Vickey joined the Union Baptist Church and baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. T.H. Alexander. She later relocated to Newark NJ. In 1985, Vickey married William Brown, through this union their son Derrick was born.

In 2006 she became a grandmother to Dyshon Allen and again in 2020, her granddaughter, Deyja Reign. Vickey loved children and she loved her family. She took an interest in people that required special attention. She was very quiet and private, her smile brought sunshine everywhere she went. We will miss her dearly and her Spirit will always surround us with her Love.

Vickey was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy L. Feaster and Raze Washington, her Stepfather, Jefferson Feaster, Sr, brother Jefferson Allen, Jr., Sister-in-law, Janice Y. Feaster, niece, Chatiqua Feaster, maternal grandparents, Floyd Sr and Willie Bell Williamson, six uncles and three aunts. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Derrick William Brown (Shanique Pitts), two grandchildren, Dyshon Allen Brown and Deyja Reign Brown all from Newark, NJ, sister Naomi Velez (Jose), Paterson, NJ, brother, Raze Washington, Mobile, Ala, two Aunts, Yvonne Williamson, Clifton, NJ, Johnnie Mae Mannuel, Newark, NJ, niece, Lateefah Williams and nephew, Jose Velez, Jr., Paterson, NJ, great niece, Azariah McRae, Paterson, NJ, Goddaughter, Ebony, Special friend, Cherl Tillman, Evette Kollock and Linda Watson-Martin and a host of family and friends.
